My house is window free but i feel sad cause i dont have adobe ps cs2 or cinema 4d any more
is there a cost effective (preferably free) 3d modeling softtware out there tht is relativly easy to use especially if 3d is a whole new thing to you. i really cant be botherd dishin out big bucks for the software until i get a proper understanding of 3dand i hav decided 2 save up try buy PS cs2 i cant live with cs.

I'm not sure about it, but I think that the only software packages that are supported on a mac are:
- Blender
- Maxon Cinema 4D
- Maya
Cinema and Maya are pretty expensive, but Blender is totally free. you can download a copy here:

not free, but less expensive and very nice interface is:
"carrara studio" and the cheaper version "Shade"
A very need program, very very powerfull, BUT (yep there is a big but), its got a very steep learning curve, just because it works in a totally different way then the others: you love or you hate the interface, there is no in between.
Its only good for modeling though, no animation no texturing : "AMAPI" (pronounced I'm Happy
)
