target path for movie clip

ei anybody here tell me how to target in the root move clip.
i tried
_this._parent.parent._parent._parent.play();
_root.play();
_this._parent.parent._parent._parent.gotoandPlay("red")
my flash compose of 7 movieclip root scene only 1 movieclip, now im in the moviclip 7 and i want to go to local root .

sample
replay button. if i click replay button it will come to the _root of the scene

as long as you are not attaching those movieclips dynamically, you can use the target function, located in the actionspanel (see screenshot)
the small target / crosshair.

if you doing it dynamically, you can use the debugger, to check where the movies are located and script it that way, debugger can be accessed by pressing: CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER
