Firstly, I am a mediatemple customer for one of my sites.
Their service is great, the uptime is great but they fail to meet my expectations in one area. But its an important area!

The control panel is awful. It is simply grim. Personally, I'm a fan of the cPanel hosting control panel, because you have far more control over what your paying for with cPanel than with the MediaTemple control panel.

As I said, the service, support, and uptime are all great with MediaTemple, but is that really enough to make me stay with them instead of going to someone like www.spoonohost.com?
Not really as I'm a spoonohost customer as well ;)

I'd suggest shopping around, trying out the admin control panel with various hosts and find the best deals rather than go on recommendations, as everyone's needs differ :)
