I've got a project to design a bottle opener. So far ive thought of new designs for the basic bottle opener but im stuck for ideas on a new mechanism. Im sure you all know how it works that the bottle opener hooks under the edge of the cap and pulls that up while the end pushes the top of the cap down. Just wondered if any of you can think of some new mechanisms for a working bottle opener and if anyone knows how the tap-a-cap ones work

That does sound like fun The only thing I could think of is some disposal unit that the cap simply drops into.. I'm still finding caps around the place from an event 6 months ago :| That's not really a fun idea though Maybe you can combine it with a bubble blower

i was thinking of a thing were you have two hooks instead if one, then u pull up and the top is squashed together....
im not sure if this makes sense , but i hope u understand

I had this in mind aswell hooks under both sides and pushes on the top. Only way i can think is some sort of mechanism like the one used in scissors
