What do you think of sites with tons of popups/ads? personally for me Any site that has ads all over the page example, top bottom left right and below any image your looking at or article, I usually dont goto that site again, yet those sites have so much traffic on their forums sometimes. I dont get it, ads and popups just annoy teh hell out of me and I cant stand it. I dont get how so many people goto those sites...or is it just me that hates them :D

I personally can't stand popups, but ads are a necessary evil at this size... it's either that or I charge, or don't have this site :/

I try to keep it as less annoying as possible, but ads are something you gotta live with like commercials on TV lol!

Yeah but at least here they arent all over, like the google ads blend in and the banners are ok, and the text ads look like normal partner stuff.

Other places its like ads over ads over ads then the content the more ads

Personally I will keep my site ads free through donations and my own money until I cant any longer.

Yea, I dont mind the ads here at p2l they blend in...in fact I dont even notice them lol!

But other sites for example they will have ads with flash in them animation click here win this, blinking ads, all completly opposite colours then the site, its just plain annoying, yet tons of people goto some of those sites.

The more traffic to a site the more expensive it is to run and money doesn't grow on trees.

Dedicated servers are very expensive to run, hence people are more aless forced to have ads all over their sites.

Popup ads are annoying but thats why popup blockers were created. :) even though I forget to enable mine lol

Personally I would rather have popup ads anyday instead of those stupid talking ads I sincerely despise those and can not understand why some people place 2 on the same page and they talk over each other, those sites go into my no go again list.

Yeah that can get out of control...

Well Dakota, I am planning to add a second dedicated server to handle all HTTP requests and all my smaller sites, so we're talking about $500 a month in servers so far per month.

Ah wow, 2 dedicated?! Yeah then I wouldnt balme you for filling up the site with ads, but once again you do a great job in keeping the m blended in.

Im currently taking part in the ad program and I'll try staying active as much as I can in that to help.

Maybe you should consider P2L Web Hosting, you could make some money off of that and I know the folks here would be interested :)

lol just a thought, well good luck with everything

When it comes to ads, I much prefer visiting websites with well integrated text ads and the occasional banner ads. Pop-ups aren't bad, since Firefox stops most of them.

The ads I hate the most would have to be those damn invacive dhtml layer ads that float in... so annoying :).

I have no problems with popups ! I use Firefox as internet browser and I use System Mechanic 5 (It has popup blocker that really works). What can I say about Ads ? Ads are ads this is the way people earn money on the Internet.
