for some reason, whenever I put the ' " 's for the php includes.. dreamweaver distorts everything on my layout.

when I upload it, its fine. But it looks all messed up in dreamweaver

Dreamweaver attempts to try and display the contents of the include as it would viewing the include itself via dreamweaver

Never trust a WYSIWYG editor. If it looks fine once actually uploaded, that's all you need.

And like everybody else said, if you have the option selected, Dreaweaver will try to include the file when you're in design view. If it can't find it for some reason, it won't include it.

its probably because u have the body tags in your external file aswell, remove all hidden tags (head, body) and it should show up fine.
