load image help

Hi guys

I need help on something, i'm working on a site. i've created the backgroung image in photoshop and imported it to dreamweaver. what i want to know is how can you make the background image load first and all the other info on the page load after. or is there a way it all can load at the same time. also one more thing any ideas on what font is good to use for websites. ie more for reading and easy on the eyes..any kind would be helpful

ok the image loading question is.... trivial. i doubt viewers care about that although layout images should be optimized gif's or jpg's so loading times are pretty quick and un noticable.

but your other question, most sites use verdana or arial. those are the two most used fonts.

another font is lucida grand but if the viewer doesn't have clear type enabled on their pc then it would look ugly, so go with verdana or arial.

Also the coding of the site is relevent as well.

For fast loading times i've found a validation of XHTML and CSS to be good also using DB's and PHP.
