I am noticing a sad trend lately in the tutorial submissions and I have been receiving complaints regarding people that are simply re-publishing articles on their site and then submitting them to our database to be added to the tutorial search engine. Folks, this is frowned upon HEAVILY by the GNU community and you can bet that authors are very upset that you're using their content to stack up on traffic. I have been declining all re-published articles lately ever since I noticed that it's happening more and more, but due to recent complaints and action by the authors themselves, I have no choice but to remove all tutorials currently in the database that are simply re-published articles that slipped through. For some, this means your entire listing was removed.
I'm sure if you stop and think about it, you can easily see why this practise is frowned upon and why I have taken this action... if everyone started republishing the same content over and over, the system would be pointless... we want people to create original content and original tutorials.
So for those of you that had your listings removed, my apologies for the loss in traffic to your site, but we decided that this is not an ethical use of GNU articles, and it's not worth getting angry emails from the authors. You're more than welcome to create some original tutorials and submit them in the future.
For those of you that are thinking of modifying the articles you post on your site to make them appear to be original content, be aware that you will be permanently banned from the listing and the original authors will be notified. Most of us here at P2L receive about 10 GNU articles a day, so you can bet your arse you'll get busted sooner or later.
Please PM me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Dan

I add a lot of GNU articles here and at home, I email many of the authors to let them know its apart of the terms, they like to see where their material has ended up. These are the ones I post inside the Forums. I wouldn't dare submit them into the database here
GNU or not its not ethical in anyway. The original authors should be getting the hits for those.
Good thing the authors are complaining because the great articles are getting fewer and fewer if they get abused they will simply stop writing them. Some are also throwing huge fines out so be weary, can be upto 150,000

Hey,
What happens if we have permission from the auther to send in the articles and we give credit to the article and a link and maybe a PM showing the email where we are allowed to use it.
Would this be allowed as I read many articles that aren't posted on here and I was going to re-write them and post them but if it's not allowed I won't bother getting myself banned.

We would prefer that syndicated or GNU based articles not be submitted as tutorials... we can't control how and what you ask permission for, and it would be a bit too tedious passing around emails for submissions that require permission and copies of emails. If you find a great article to share, you're more than welcome PM or email it to me and I will post it in the articles section and give credit to you for sending it my way.
Thanks,
Dan
