I'm trying to make a 3D atomic symbol, similar to the one found at <www.fusionfmg.com> (the symbol is on the top left of the page). I've made the three rings and ball, but I'm having difficulty placing the ball in the center of the rings; at this point, the ball is either behind all the rings or in front. Any assistance would be appreciated.

After you draw the ring, cut in in half (wont show if you dont use borders).
Then in object menu (its first or second item in list) move one part in the back and the other in front.

Hope this makes sense.
If not, just tell me ill try to make an example with something i made ong time ago in Illustrator 4  (it was called "interlocking type", 2 letters that interlock doh)
