I've been trying to help a friend out by designing a logo for him.

I am not a professional or anything, just like playing around with PS and building websites for friends.

The initials are AOR.

This is what I have, but I can't figure out how to make the 'R' look more like a 'R' and still keep it symetrical.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go for more of a rectangular look, bring up that diagonal line and make it more vertical. I think that would help.

try switching the diagonal and the horizontal bar of last letter (in height)
and also do what justblaze says.
maybe that wil work

Now, just out of curiosity (i know what it did do the cat)
tell us a little bit more bout this logo: where will it be used or for what etc...
Im always interested and sometimes i get new ideas when other ppl start brainstorming
then maybe i could help a little more.

Nice, add another colour for a highlight, like a strip of red or something

Thanks for the feedback. Here's some more info.

It's for a custom fabrication shop that makes steel products. He is going for a look of precision.

The logo would be used for the website, t-shirts and would be cut out of steel and welded onto finished products.

I've played around with many combinations of the 'R', but I really like the symetrical-ness of the current design.

Just some sort of notch out of the far right diagonal to make it more like an 'R', but I can get it to look good.

I would like to keep all the diagonal lines the way they are to keep the look of symetry.

What do you think about keeping it just like it is?? It would be somewhat abstract, but distinctive

I'm really stuck, I may just have to give it a couple days and come back to it.

Thanks again!!

Maybe type what AOR stands for, what it means, below the logo, in a smaller, easier to read font, like arial or something.

Thanks for the replies. Here are the final 3 that I finally came up with.

I'll try the pixel stretch thing too.

The main font is Brawl from dafont.com.

Most of the other letters are custom.
