I've been a bit quiet in the news lately, but this is pretty justified as I have been working very hard on new projects both for P2L, and outside this realm. You can check out my blog (link in sig) for updates on what I've been up to etc...Anyhow, our poor server (yes, we're on a dedicated dual Xeon server) is starting to burst at the seams, and 2 recent plugs on Digg really served up some pain cake on the dual CPUs and brought the site to it's knees. I've also been noticing slow downs during peak hours (Monday around 1PM the site is PACKED with ppl) so it would appear that it's time for another upgrade to speed things back up and handle the load! With that said, we will be adding a second dual CPU server to P2L so that we have one box completely dedicated to MySQL processing and the other to run the rest of the sites functions. This solution is one step short of all out load-balancing and we think should be a good solution for the remainder of the year.
Aside from that, we're hard at work on our Hammer-Time project and of course poor Jay needs a revamp of his blog stomping grounds, so watch for that to be launched pretty soon.
