avi in flash

hi, i'm pretty new to flash and i would like to imort a avi file into flash, but when i import it it always looses alot of quality, and the quality of the flash movie is set to highest, how can i fixs this???

Well, you can export your movie to a .mov file which is more compatible with flash or you use the Flash Video Encoder included in Flash 8 Professional to encode your video to an FLV file which has a far much better quality then any other codec for use in Flash.

ok thanks, one more question: to make an animated button with a movie in the over stat, do you need to convert the button in to a movie first and them into a button?

if you are working with buttonsymbols then you just need to put a mc on the over state of the button. if you working with movieclips as buttons then you need to script it.
