What type of college did you go to? A university, community, tech school? im going to a tech school atm and i keep thinking that i made the wrong choice, i guess my credits cannont be transfered when i want to go get my bachelors degree... And thats really going to suck. Im asking the people that went to school for graphic design. I just want to know if this is a waste of $29,000...................

I took a concentrated college course here in Toronto, it was 6 months long, but I was in class 5 days a week for 5-6 hours a day. They basically throw tons and tons of info at you. If you can keep up and take it all in, its great. About 1/3rd of the people dropped out of the class by the end tho. And very few actually learned most of what was taught.
The course did cover graphic design for web, but lacked on the theory. Lots of coding was covered as well, starting with XHTML, CSS and Javascript, into ColdFusion, PHP and MySQL. We finished that off with Actionscript 2.0.
All in all, I loved doing it, drank much more coffee than the average person, went on very little sleep, and had no life. But I learned so much. The best thing this type of course teaches you is how to properly teach yourself. I'm at the point now where (at least when it comes to coding languages) I can pick up a book and learn that way. I did nearly all my php learning through php.net's function list.
Only cost 6,000 CND too
So it was well worth my time and money. Course wasn't funded by the government either, which reduces all the red tape, so it means we use the newest versions of the software as they come out. In fact, we upgraded to Macromedia Studio 8 in the middle of the course.
Hope that helps!
