Pixel2life - not reaching it's full potential.

tutorialized.com Alexa rank: 6,878
good-tutorials.com Alexa rank: 7,456
pixel2life.com Alexa rank: 8,719
Pixel2Life has the most tutorials out of the three (double tutorialized) yet, it's about 2,000 sites behind it. I think the reasons are a too graphical heavy layout on pixel2life (over 800kb's for homepage all things together). Which is about over twice as much as tutorialized which clocked in at about 360kb, and good-tutorials is even smaller. Maybe it has something to do with SEO, but I don't know much about it.
What do you guys think?

alexa rankings are only based off users that have the alexa toolbar installed they are not true traffic rankings and never have been, they just give a general traffic view.

@Faken, yes, that makes sense, perhaps I just think that P2L should be less graphical. But it still confuses me as to how you guys could get more tutorial submissions, and still have less visitors. And I hope I have bigger fish to fry than checking P2L Alexa rank 3 years down the road
edit: Grr, I think I know the real problem behind this, it's that you guys delete too many of my posts.

It's a fair point that it maybe has too many graphics... and i've been personally complaining about that for a while now...

Anyway, making a 56k layout and a heavy graphics layout is taking the easy way out, make the hard decisions for you users!

They could always have a lightweight version of the site so in your settings if u register you can like choose in your profile "IM ON DIALUP" or "IMAGe sIZE? WHO CARES??"

"Preferences are a way to avoid making tough decisions
Instead of using your expertise to choose the best path, you're leaving it in the hands of customers. It may seem like you're doing them a favor but you're just making busy work for them (and it's likely they're busy enough already). For customers, preference screens with an endless amount of options [c-unit's note: think IPB] are a headache, not a blessing. Customers shouldn't have to think about every nitty gritty detail - don't put that burden on them when it should be your responsibility"

HMM. Yes I have had this a few times; where from where I come from certain things mean different to Donna ( the person who always warns me over PM "/ ) so we have to follow the rules 100% and not bend them a tad to spice some things up. But I suppose thats just way of life..

I don't think you realize it, but one website owner can take his site from unranked to the top 50,000 by using it himself/herself and visiting daily. We are not talking about the ranks in the 50,000's in this case, but it still stands. Just a few return visitors can sway it a lot.
Now, I do agree that P2L has a large amount of images, and I would like to see a new version without tables, but that really isn't detouring visitors...
I think the real problem is negative threads!
