Its a new email thing that microsoft has going on. You can test it out, theres a button on the top left corner called SIgn up for mail Beta. I like the features, you can click on an email and it will load in another frame. and you can right click reply.
So far i like it but its kinda glitchy. If you have hotmail and you have tried it out, What do you think about this?

I had this a while ago and it's really bad compared to the usual email.

The whole idea of the Outlook-like layout is great but in reality it isn't like that. If you are reading an e-mail a lot of stuff is at the wrong place because there is so few space ( In the width ) because of the huge banner right of it.
There is just too little space for everything because they had to put a huge banner in there which really messes everything up.
Something I really like is the new drag-and-drop function which allows you to drop e-mails into a certain folder very quickly.
All with all it has some great new functions that you won't see a lot on other websites or whatever but comparing Windows Live Mail to Hotmail I still don't find it a great improvement besides the drag-and-drop function.
Hotmail is really better as it is easier to use.

Barkeeper, about the huge banner on the side, you can goto options and change the layout of your mail so its email on top, message below and extra stuff on side exactly like outlook.....

Sounds like Hotmails trying to get aboard the Ajax train...

TOOT TOOT Goes the train, there it goes and Microsoft missed it so they are stuck with their slow AJAX script, I swear loading WLMail lags quite a bit

Only when I switch to Classic Hotmail View I get the old layout. The point with the Windows Live layout is that you can't scroll the actual page. The emails are loaded within an i-frame of a certain size which is always the same. Even though you can make it a little bit bigger by dragging the upper bar up ( And decreasing the size of you inbox ) it won't allow you to expand the whole thing itself.

Well thats just stupid that they dont shrink it, since on even my resolution I get ads that take up half the screen! They should make an option so you can have the email open in a new window, or open in a new frame that takes up the screen or something(Like the PM NOtification on invision)...I dunno...You can e-mail support, because it really would suck for those that have 800x600 res, tell them to size down the advertisements or remove them lol! I know the first 2 months of WLM beta there were no any ads..

http://www.live.com/ shows us that more Ajax and Javascript=better, remember usability is for suckers, animation=money. It's a rather unknown fact that people actually enjoy not being able to figure out what something does and how to use it.
