someone wants a me to cut out her AI doc and make it have a trasparent BG, is this possible?

if all you got to work with is the optimized file, you can cut out whatever you want like any regular image (selections).
or if you have the ai file... you can open it in photoshop and it'll have a transparent background.

if you want to bring it to flash, it would be best to simply copy it and pasting it into flash.
another way is to export them from AI as transparent PNGs. But it will no longer be vector once it is in the PNG format.

Actually...if you have Macromedia Fireworks, you should be able to open a PNG exported from AI and have it still be vector - considering that Fireworks is a vector program....
That might work. I don't know why you would want to but...anyway
