Hello there!

I have a problem. I made some small pixelly graphics that's meant to be transparent on the web, and saved as PNG. It looks perfect in Firefox, but in IE, the graphics are not transparent. Can anybody tell me what file type should I save my graphics in so that it's transparent in both IE and Firefox?

Thanks in advance!!

You can use transparent pngs files in IE but you need to add a javascript to make them transparent, this won't be problem soon as I believe transparent png files work ok in IE7

*** EDIT ***
i'll be more informative due to popular demand :D

gif files only have two transparency options, on or off, so when working on the psd, you can't have 'semi-transparent' areas. but as of now, its the only (transparent) file type that works in all browsers.

So I just save all PNG images in GIF? But as you said there would be no 'semi-transparent', that would be a problem.

So maybe I'ma go with the Javascript.

Thanks all!

Just wondering: What's meant by "Semi-transparent"?

semi-transparent means not 100% and not 0% visible. its inbetween.

e.g create a new layer and fill it in with a color, get the eraser tool, set it at 30% and erase one piece of the layer, it'll have semi-transparency

Typical example is a shadow: it darkens the area, but doesnt really cover it with 1 color (black in most cases)
without semi-transparant you can have a smooth shadow.
