Alright, since i hear alotta people askin me bout how i make those smooth nice lookin techy-ish borders on my work...welll i would like to pass on my skill on to you people by doing a tutorial on it!
1. First, open photoshop, file>New.... pick how big you want your sig to be...( i choose 400 by 150)
2. Now in this tutorial im going to use a Black background , for my pick an thats what im going to add my tutorial on....but u guys might wanna use a different background.
-heres what i will use...u can use this too...if u want:
There you go....if you don already have a background...u can use this one for now...i just made a background for u!..what more do u need
3. Now... time to add in those nice borders...first Click on the Polygonal Lasso Tool, (L)
4. Now use the Polygonal Lasso tool to select out where the border, and the size of the border u want it to be..like Below:
5. DONT DESELECT!....Kepp the selection there, and press ctrl/shift/I
or u can right click an click on "Select Inverse" ...once that is done...it should look like this:
6. Still not deselecting....keeping the selection there...fill the spot with black.
7. Next, deselect, ctrl/d, now...we add color/texture an all that.....so right click on the layer that u just filled in....and click on Blending Options...
Now the Layer Style Window Comes up....and this is what u add...
8. Now press ok...an there's ur nice smooth border...now...u can finish off here...but if u want to add more detail...and a nicer look...u can continue by doing...
-Optional-
9. Now that u have the smooth border...u can add detail by:
-Using the Single Row Marquee Tool
-Or Using a Single Column Marquee Tool
(to get these tools...you have to hold click on the Rectangular Marquee Tool)
To add detail with these tools...u clik the tool on ur sig an then press delete...
10. or u can use the Elliptical Marquee Tool..and cut out circles...by selecting a spot and then pressing delete:
11. There are many other ways... but this is just the amatuer way...of doing nice smooth techy borders...for sigs and many other uses... and this concludes our tutorial...
My Result with a few final touches AND adding other Borders with different color....
Also...u can download some other nice techy styles in the following links:
