Could someone please point me to a good tutorial for Illustrator? I am looking for a basic "drawing" or drawing tools guide.

I have used Corel Draw forever, but see some benefits to getting good with Illustrator, in Corel you use nodes and I know how to manipulate them there easy, but for some reason I keep getting lost with the different tools Illustrator uses, im looking for some basic guides.

Please let me know if this doesn’t explain what im looking for well enough, I don’t know exactly what to call it.

Pen Tool
Add Anchor Point Tool
Delete Anchor Point Tool
Convert Anchor Point Tool

I understand what these tools are used for, its just getting the hang of using them, for the most part.

I found a tutorial that has some information for using these tools, but its not really focusing on the tools, so it only explains a bit. I make the lines i want with the pen tool, i then use the Direct Selection Tool to select certain "anchor points", i then often but not always get "anchor point handles", these are the main problem i guess, sometimes i stumble across a way to manipulate the handles, other times i just lose the selection all together

If you have ever used Corel Draw, i would have to say that it has a much better method of dealing with this

thanks for your help Scythar

NDesign-Studio has some nice Illustrator tutorials. Also, try Sketch Pad. Corel Draw and Illustrator are a little different in terms of how to use those tools. I do think Corel Draw is more user friendly but I think Illustrator is easier to draw with once you get used to the tools.

I started making a "pen" tutorial, but i will have to wait, cos suddenly last night at home (now i am at school/work) the last update from norton found this freeking w32.polip virus, which apparently settled itself on every damn .exe file i have (both internal and external drives). And since Norton places those infected files in quarantaine i lost my executables, so i lost many programs, like internet explorer, planetside, Ut, illustrator, premiere etc... . I'll prop end up having to format C everything :D, but i am prosponing as long as i can trying to reinstall as much s i can without having to reformat everything.

I hate those f**king retrds who think that can make a point by annoying ppl this way.

Just wanted this off of my chest, pardon my french.
