If you ctrl+alt+shft+click with move tool (actually i am saying this cos i always forget : its either ctrl either alt, but just click both lol) and drag a layer from 1 file to another (select all and then drag from window to window), the layer will automaticly be centered on top of the active layer in the other file.

you you can ctrl + click on the main image in the layers palette (the one that will have the centered image inside of it). so that brings up it's selection.

then regular click on the layer you want to make cetnered, and then click layer - align - vertical.
then layer- align- horizontal.

the mac does have ant alt key so thats where i was getting mixed up, cheers

cant get the align option to work so have resorted to holding ctrl down when i drag the image across

however when i drag an image onto the new layer with colour in, it gets changed to a grayscale any ideas?

Hello,

Thanks Ryan.
