:)
Hello,

Using filters in photoshop is really symple, you can teach it to a newbie in five minutes, "got to the filters menu, choose one and move the sliders.... :huh: " BUT this is not really efficient as to my mind the hardest thing to understand is really how to use these filters and in which situation and context. :wacko:
I'm trying to compile a list of ressources on this subject but i haven't been able to find some interesting ressources, i was wondering if some of you had some ideas on this topic. :)

I'm looking for informations about the following topics:
-in which context are using which filter ?
-is there a kind of repository about filter usage ?

Best regards,

Jean-Jacques

Thats because there are usually infinte ways to make something, thus infite filter combinations to do the same.
So, most of the time, the spirit behind those tutorials are: look what you can make with this filter also, and now its up to you to alter those settings we gave you and find out what changes these make...

For me, most of the time it works as folows: (usually 3DSMax, but ill give the example with photoshop)
1. i tryout a tutorial, and while i am doing it i dont understand 60% of what i am reading.
2. I do the same tutorial as a rebel: when they say dont forget to... i gorget it, i alter the settings, i use other layerr modes then what they tell me etc..; you get the picture;
At this point i understand bout 60 - 75% of what is told.
3. I try to remake the same tutorial, as if it was my tutorial with another subject and i find out very quickly what can go wrong, thus learning a little each time i curse myself.
4. I search similar tutorials bout the same thing on the net.

after that you can be sure you know a lot more bout photoshop and bout 10% of the usefullness of that filter.
