I received an email from a long time friend that suggested an interesting thread I though I'd get started. What do you feel are the top 5 software tools you need to design a website? Here's mine:

1. Corel Photopaint for graphics (Corel)
2. Macromedia Dreamweaver for layout design (Macromedia)
3. AllWebMenus for nice dropdowns (Likno)
4. Swift3D for all my vector 3D artwork (Electric Rain)
5. Textpad for coding! (Free Download)

As the obvious runner up - Macromedia Flash for my flash stuff (Which I haven't done in quite awhile) (Macromedia)

Feel free to post your top 5 :)

Hi Fak. Hrmm, I seem to have asked a similar question way back when.... <_<

So where can I get a freeware reasonable facsimile program like AllWebMenus?? I need a kool drop down menu program.

Awesome question.

1) Photoshop 7.0 / ImageReady - My graphics end
2) Dreamweaver MX - Developing a rough layout of tables and other time consuming tasks
3) WS_FTP - FTP Program
4) Apache / PHP / MySQL - Preview my sites on localhost
5) NoteTab Pro - Code my sites

6) OPTIONAL: WinAMP - Got to have music!

I honestly have never seen a visual GUI type program like Likno to make drop downs... it's truly an ingenious application.

Myth - I agree... I need my winamp playing at all times :D
