Starting off In PHP???

Any advice on how to start off writing PHP scripts? I would appreciate any input, thanks!

Read other peoples scripts, and make sure you know what they are saying. Once you can easly read someone else's and know what it says/does you should be better.

How i started to teach myself it, was by GOOGLE :)

I really like SAMS PHP and MySQL books. The one I learned everything from is:

SAMS Teach Yourself PHP, MySQL and Apache in 24 Hours.

I know you shouldn't trust the "in 24 hours" part, but it is a really good book.

Aiiite, thanks ya'll, i will most def, take a look at some books and do some searching on google, one more question:

"Does anyone know the code for a rotating banner?" It needs to work with PHP.
