well when I first at down to play the game I remember exactly what I said.. I think it was "Oh oh uh ho oh" or some other near orgasmic panting and raving, I've told everyone I know that hands down it is the best RPG I have ever played, I loved morrowind (how could you not it was so ahead of its time) but this takes things to a whole new level. so of course I give it a 10/10
What I would like to know is when are they going to make first person rpg games of this quality that you can play with a group? I'm not talking mmorpg that would ruin this type of world, but imagine you and one or two of your friends co-oping ? I think it would be sick..

It would be better if it was online, console disabled, and no monthly fees like world of warcraft does.

I never played Morrowind (sadly), but when I first picked up Oblivion for my 360 (I could have gotten it for the PC, but my roommate is not a PC Gamer ((hence, the 360)) so we got it for the console instead) I was quite amazed.

I created my character and went on through the dungeon, exploring and whatnot. Getting used to the controls and how the game feels. All the while my mouth was dropping because the graphics were so clean and crisp on our HDTV.

When I got out of the dungeon my mouth just dropped... It was dawn in the world and the sun was just coming up over the side of the hills. The water was realistic, the grass was realistic, the trees were realistic, and the nasty little mud-crabs that I smacked around with my bow were realistic. In fact, I think the mud-crabs are the most detailed enemy's in the game. :D

Gameplay is very for fun me. I have three characters all of which use different forms of attack whether it be melee, ranged, or magicka.

First character is a cliched Imperial Warrior who is to save the world from Oblivion. I use the sword and heavy-armor on him (I managed to kill Umbra, so I got all her goodies). I am trying on working to improve his marksmanship, but that's not going too well. I also hunt cougars, boars, and sadly, wolves. It's really depressing having to shoot a wolf with an arrow as it cries out in pain. I am not focusing on any dungeon exploring with this character; just pure-oblivion and fighter-guild quests with him. And, of course, maybe a few side-quests to help the people of Cyrodill out.

My second character is a Breton female who is my Magicka caster. Focusing on Conjuration and Healing as my main battle-front. And, of course, Destruction Magicka. Gatta love sticking a nice fireball in an Imp's face. :) Focusing on side-quests and Mages Guild quests with this character.

My last character, which I play the most because I like to deviate, is a female Khajiit assassin. Working on the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood questline with her. I'll also occasionally kill a few people here and there who piss me off royally. I killed a person to 'acquire' her special enchanted arrows, so I have some fun with that – shooting up the guards with a flame arrow and watching them fly into the air. My bounty stands at around, 12000 for this character. I have to pay it off somehow. Sneak, Marksmanship and Agility are all my favorite stats with this character.

So yea, those are my styles of gameplay pretty much.

Overall, I think the game is very well designed. There are a few flaws here and there (repetitive voice dialogue; there are only roughly 12 unique character voices throughout the entire game) but I think it is a very stable and fun game. I have logged in well over 200 hours into this game, and to be honest – that is the longest I have ever played a single-player game right next to Grand Theft Auto. Definitely worth the $60 for me.

Silwolffe gives Oblivion a rating: 8/10

Wait 3 characters? You can do that? Dont you have to have 3 different accounts? Wont that be like you complete the main quest 3 times?

Yes, you can have as many characters as you want in the game.

You don't have to complete the main quest if you don't want to -- in fact, you dont have to do any quests if you dont want to. I just simply took the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre on my two characters that I have that aren't completing the main quest just to get rid of the darn thing. That's just about it.

I have a dark elf ninja (custom class) and I am currently doing the dark brotherhood quests, that place is sick isnt it? I've done enough contracts now that I get to use the quick entrance through the well and my infamy is going way up.. I have managed to kill around 15 or 20 people and I have 0 bounty.. its pretty fun being the crafty killer, cuz anyone can go chop somebody up but it takes a true master to get away undetected

The game as a whole is pretty good. But the engine and level scaling leaves alot to be desired.

Oblivion is a great game, but after a month of playing, it got boring... I enjoyed Morrowind a lot more, it has a lot more to it..

yea morrowind was much more impressive at the time. Was a game that exceeded expectations and gave alot to view with a good amount of challenge and work to see it at all...

Oblivion is complete opposite. you can see everything in like a week with minimal effort.

I played Morrowind regularly for two years, and there was still things I hadn't done.

I'm still addicted to morrowind, mostly because my computer can't run Oblivion...
but I'm gonna buy a new graphics card this summer.

I'm still reletively new to the game (only level 12) but It has its own pros and cons, I loved morrowind and I think I played it for about a year straight, I dont know that there will be this kind of longevity for oblivion, but there are some parts of the game that just make it all worth while, like the black hand/dark brotherhood missions, awesome stuff..

If I can lose myself with just walking around the game and looking at the scenery, then the game has succeeded in entertaining me.

Oblivion is beautiful. I don't care what people say about it, I love it. I love my characters, and I love the way the world comes alive.

Of course, I hate how difficult it can be and how you can shoot a creature (whether its human or beast) 10 times in the head with an arrow, and it still wont fall... I lower the difficulty down, that way I can kill things instantly with arrow shots. It's more fun to see a person fall when you sneak attack them with an arrow. :-) That's what makes me enjoy the game.
