Today, I opened a new website...however...I deleted my index.php file by mistake and now I don't know how to get it back in SmartFTP. Someone help me please.

Is it your own index.php file or a script such as a forum or CMS? There is no "recycle bin" or backup to smartFTP therefore you cannoy recover it, but if you have a backup your can simply reupload the file.

Then unfortunetly your screwed
smartFTP has no backup system. You could contact your host and ask if they did regular backups?

If they run a decent host then they wont be pissed, its their job to do it.

if you do edit directly from your host, that's (whats a good censored word for dumb that means the same....) not so bright
...
you should always edit your pages on your computer and then upload them to your host. i'd like to think its the job of the webmaster to back up their data, not the host.

Always backup, even jesus saves. And editing a file on localhost and then upload it seperately every time is not always very handy. With PHP scripts, I just edit and upload, edit and upload, edit and upload untill it finally works the way I want, I can imagine Azerty does the same. It's not (whats a good censored word for dumb that means the same....), though it does have it's disadvantages yeah I agree.
