Alright, I am a newbie as most people out there are to. My question and concern is that I would like to know how the graphics and some of the layout was done at GOTFRAG of course if anyone that is a web designer and a gamer probally has been there and wondered themselves.. So im here to ask that dumb question.. If you are advanced and could give a brief description on answering my question I would appreciate it very.. Or even if your not but you know some tutorials that show what im asking even that would be fine.. but would perfer a nice advanced designer.. Want to say tho this site rocks and is one of the most reliable sites I know with the most Tuts!

Take Care Guys n Gals!

The image would have been made in photoshop and then sliced sliced and coded.

Te layout is a mix of tables and CSS.

Thank you for your reply, but I was trying to get more at how the graphics were made. Because the color and the layout is clean. Ex. the login, the buttons, the image for the login and password.. like how were those made.. And on the script/coding side, how is actually put together? php? asp? etc.. And 1 last thing, how was it organized? if its php, does it use includes? or does it use tables to keep things in place?

Once Again, Thank You for your Reply.

Again for graphics i can only answer you by saying photoshop. Probably used a colour chooser for the colours.

As to how it was coded. Well what you see on the outside is outputted HTML obviously, there not real way of telling how its coded but i would really think it was php.

The last question nobody but the site owner can know really, there are so many ways although i would think there is a template engine in there somewhere. All php sites will use include at sometime or another but not necessarily for the layout. The site looks pretty damn well coded so i would think.

And as im typing i just found this lol.

Explain a little.

The layout could have been made in various graphical programs in which the list could go on and you couldn't limit it just to Adobe Photoshop as you have other programs from the Macromedia and Corel range as well as various open-source programs such as GIMP.

The code seems a bit rusty so I wouldn't say it was made in Macromedia Dreamweaver or Notepad but another form of text/HTML editor, you could learn how to code HTML/CSS/XHTML to make your own webpages and learn how to code your images to appear on your webpages at the following sites:

http://w3schools.com
http://pixel2life.com
http://devshed.com
http://sitepoint.com

Of course there are more but these are the basic ones in which will help you and are mostly upto web standards.

aaaahhhheeemmmm.

http://scudworkz.com...s.php?cat=xhtml (look at the 2nd tutorial).

html is used to make layouts, and php (or asp...) is used to keep things easier to manage, for example, most sites use php includes to only have one header file and one footer file and if they want to update their layout, they only have to change the code in those two files.

but you dont need php or any other server-side language to make a site.

oh and uhhh the 'graphics' part of this site is very basic, shapes with gradients.

only unartistic designers use a 'color picker'. a computer doesn't see like the human eye...
