when you look at templates like templatemonster.com how do these people create their templates?
can somebody someday post a tutorial for HIGH END layout?
like with lots of grahics / blendings/ buttons / shadows / gradients / bevels

how to do all that and combine all the layouts to form a high quality website which will have people go like "WoW"

i dunno .. this is just a though/
;)

you can't really teach someone everything you know... you can teach knowledge but not experience. THerefore, you cannot TEACH someone how to make a kick ass layout... you need experience. You can't teach imagination either... its something that comes naturally. What I suggest is just become familiar with your program and read a whole bunch of tutorials on how people did their buttons and things.
It takes a long time just to think of a good idea for a layout... I know. So just familiarize yourself with different techniques and opportunities will come. THe more techniques you know the better your layout will be...

Trial and error, my friend. To make a full website you will need a lot of inspiration, a lot of time and a lot of beer. :P

Some of my best work has been done at like 3am when I was frustrated and took a late night walk to clear my head. The best thing you can do while doing a layout is occasionally get up, push in your keyboard tray, and turn off the monitor. (save your work first, in case Felix decides to play on your keyboard in your absense).

The brain doesn't work well when subjected to the same thing for a long period of time, and the breaks will help make the work seem to go faster. Doing something quiet, unrelated to what you need to do will help because you get a fresh outlook on the project and ideas will start flowing again.

Planning is also important. I like to sketch my ideas onto a drawing pad before starting, that way I have a clear idea of what I want to do. Graph paper works well for layouts too, but sometimes they're too limiting...

Hope this helps, cheers :P
