Hey, well I don't see the point of having Google Talk if I have nobody to use it with. I mean I download it so I can use my headset that I bought with it, and I have about 30+ friends and nobody is EVER online, only when they are actually in GMail checking mail, and then they don't want to talk.

So does anybody here use GTalk on a daily or semi-daily basis?

If so, my account is ryanbarr@gmail.com

this google talk program is aload of crap in my opinion, theres no point with it when all ppl do is use gmail for the 2gb+ inbox space you get plus you also get aload of spam email aswell which isnt very good for something from google and gmail is still beta itself look how long its been around and still is beta

I found it quite useless and the smiley's sucked, unistalled it months back, but now I see you don't even need the chat installed it adds a chat screen inside your gmail.

I use gmail for serious conversations
I use MSN for friends and mIRC to meet old friends
I think every messenger got it's own special funcion
for exemple: MSN messenger is full of crap like winks and emoticons, not good for a business talk for exemple... Gtalk is diferent, you may easly use microphone and have a cleaner talking

You can PM me if u want my address anyone, not saying you'll get it :)

The whole point of GTalk is a simple alternative. No winks, no nudges, minimal smilies, not bloody fonts, no balls and its small.

Well i like it anyway

I use Gtalk, not too much because people use msn, so I only have a few Gtalk contacts.
But I like it, simple, but nice and fast

Concept X, go to setting and change your language to English US. Then you will probably have it or at least be in the queue to receive it.

Last i heard, most GMail updates only appear when you have your language set as English US.

I disabled the gtalk window in gmail, I also disabled those silly little web clips things.. I like the simplicity of gmail - and don't like the idea of complicating it with google talk.

I have downloaded google talk before to see what it's like - but I prefer MSN (or WLM), that's probably because I'm immature and although I disabled nudges/winks I love my custom emoticons and colorful fonts

I use GTalk a lot. I don't have many contacts, but the ones I do have I talk to. Plus it's nice and simple, just the way it should be.

I like it.

it's pretty much just a rehash of Jabber, which i believe has been around awhile. In fact, that's how you use GTalk if you use Trillian, with the Jabber plug-in/protocol.
