Right, well my girlfriends 21st Birthday is rearing its ugly head and its occured to me that i'm actually gonna have to start planning now in order to get anything speical. I've got 3 months to work with :P

So, I've turned to you for advice, I'm looking for a unique present, experience or something like that which doesn't cost the earth (I' a university student dont cha know)

Anyone done anything or received something partically cool for any birthday? those of you who are over 21, what did you do for your 21st, those who aren't what would your ideal birthday be

I'm after suggestions peeps, may they be weird and wonderful

All the best
G

Give her your arm, that's both unique and doesn't cost the earth. :P
Hmm, you could do what I always do, ask her friends or something, or if she loves some special movie, buy her lots of effects (like posters, a special edition-version, etc).
But I really suck at these things myself.
Anyway, good luck :P

Well if you're gonna spend it on a present then buy jewelery (a lot more meaningful than dvds/clothes/etc), as for an experience, a weekend away would probably go down quite well. Either just the two of you or a big group of you, her and her friends (With you paying for her and yourself). The holiday with friends would probably be more memorable for her, as 21st is still seen as a prime time for partying.
I went to Amsterdam for my 21st with a big group of mates. Even though our apartment got broken into and my mate got mugged, it was still the best holiday I've ever had.
Just whatever you do, don't go getting her one of those stupid plastic '21st' keys.

How much you want to spend? For a unqiue gift that's a lot of fun, go for a hot air balloon ride.

I would never ask the friends of my gf what I should get her, that looks pretty lame... Isnt the boyfriend the one that should know its gf best? Besides, they will definately tell her which makes you look even worse lol. Women can't keep secrets!

Hot air balloon ride is a great idea :P If you're looking for cheaper gifts, arrange a picknick, try to cook and set up a romantic dinner, promise you'll go shopping with her, without giving her the bored look. And last but not least a coupon for cleaning her room. (Ok those last two ideas should be skipped)

My 21st birthday had something to do with alcohol, dont remember what exactly..
