whenever i go to make a new project or whatever on photoshop the background has a lock on it and so how would i fix that i have been trying to get rid of it... but it just won't budge.... p.s. im a noob at photoshop (if you haven't noticed)

well, when the inital background has a lock, there's nothing you can do for it :/

What you could do, is create a new layer, and use THAT as your background, if you want to nudge it.
You could also open a new project, with a transparent background, and I believe that -that background would be unlocked. Hoped this helped :/

If you want the one with a lock on it to be the background, duplicate it, delete the original and there you go.

Double-click on the Background layer to promote it to a regular layer.

Renaming it turns it into a regular layer.
