At last, I think this is my final issue regarding websites and their complicated stuff.

I've heard it somewhere about domains registration... Why should I register a domain's name? How can I register my domain's name? Can I publish my own website without registering a domain's name? Also, do I have to fork over some cash to do it? o.O

Thanks in advance. :o

Premium Top Level domain names costs cash. My choice of registrar is registerfly.com but godaddy.com seems to be popular too. You don't need a top level domain name for publishing your website. You can use a free webhost such awardspace.com or other to publish your website, but to get a domain with for example pixel2life.com you would need to resgiter and "fork over some cash".

So if I don't register a domain name, my domain name will be something like: htp://www.awardspace.com/mydomain?
Nothing is free I guess... :-)

And its a damn good job domain names aren't free. Think of the chaos lol.

And yes if you dont register a domain then you will have to use a subdomain or similar.

You could also register a free domain @ http://uni.cc

So you domain would be something.uni.cc

Also buying a domain name can have a hell of a lot advantages, for example you will sound more professional instead of having god-awful .co.nr domains on the end, also SEO will be improved for the domain name so you will get listed a lot better.

well technicaly you don't need to have a domain name, you can have a hosting server and stick your files on and people can view it still. You just won't get any visitors as people can't remember IP address's to easy :)

.tk domains are free. Get one here
I would advice you to buy one, though.

And I wouldn't advice you to get a .tk domain, since they have a redirect screen with ads before you get to your site. There is other free domains if you wish to have a free one, as .co.nr and others.
