Well, I am looking to get a unique skin made for my forums, but I don't know where to look, and I also don't know if I'm being ripped off.

How much should I be charged, and where can I go about looking for a unique skin?

Thank you so very much to anyone who can help.

There's a lot of places you can get them, a lot of web designers do them, like me.

Or you could go to a site that specifies in IPB forum skins, and has done a lot of good custom skins, like P2L's.

As mentioned above, most designers can do them, (mee to). Ghosts (Admin of P2L) skinning site at the link above also has good skins.

As for the price of custom skins it can vary dending on where you look really, its the same as for web designs.

you don't need to advertise your site...

anyway to find a skin search on google if they did rip it and they see you have it just give them the link to who gave it to you and remove it from your site.

I recomend http://www.ipbforumskins.com/ too.

You can pay anything upto $1000 plus, word of advice is to check the skinners reputation out as there is a lot out there that have no clue how to skin and think a simple css/graphic change is skinning. Also make sure they will be able to make the changes for you if IPB releases another version that requires skin edits.

BTW client forum have some great tuts on skin editing and you can also post a request there. http://www.ipsbeyond...orums/index.php?

Only two I highly recommend that won't rip you off is Kim (dragonfly) former owner of IBunique you can find her at http://www.skinbydragonfly.com she has been skinning IPB since it was first released I work with her known her for yrs so be nice if you go there :) and Ghost http://www.ipbforumskins.com/ ghost done our P2L skin he has also done some custom skinning for my forum.

good luck :D

I also do custom IPB skins, although my reputation is slightly less known. I am opening up my site really soon. I'm having a friend of mine code the main template while I work on skins. Custom Skins from Zero Designz / Prestige Media start out at the price of $150, and can go up from there depending on the difficulty of the skin. We have basically the same payment deal as IPBFS (50% when mockup is done, other 50% when it's finished).

You can view the skins I've completed here. http://zerodesignz.net/skins/

FFHut and GTAP are custom skin requests. The owner of the GTAP skin walked out on the skin half way through after his lack of communication. The FFHhut skin was made to match their website at http://ffhut.co.uk.

IPB_evo was a free skin released to http://invisionize.com and it is also here on P2L.

The other two skins (x_evolved and green factor) are multi-seller skins. Where you can buy them for about $25, and they'll be sold multiple times. These two are still in production.

Most of the skins in the world around cost $25-30. Custom skin may go from $75 if that is customization of existing skin, but a complete unique design go upto $300-$500.
