Hi
I am relatively new to this but have a little knowledge.
So far i have created a site page in Photoshop CS, done my slicing in Image Ready and then opened in DMX.

I have set the background image and I am now trying to add layers to insert some content etc.

Problem I am having is that I can Add Layer just find but when I preview in IE it doesnt appear where I put it. It seems to shift to the right.
I tried this with 3 different layers side by side and added some content and each time in IE it wasny diplayed where it was in DMX.

Hope someone can help me with this as I am stumped???

Thanks in advance

He's talking about a div layer. Photoshop isn't the problem in this case (although, it's a bad start).

As i've never used dreamweavers design view, i can't say what the problem is, but i can suggest you run a forum search for photoshop/dreamweaver.
Basically, if it looks right in dreamweaver, don't count on it looking right anywhere else.

The design view in dreamweaver has never been suited to css, i know on the rare occaisions i have opened it out of interest, it has never represented what the layout looks like live.

Try using code view to alter positions yourself, only way im afriad.

The problem with layers in Dreamweaver is the positioning. If you drag the layer where you want it, DW will write that position in the CSS code for you. THe problem is, I believe that it always uses absolute positioning to the viewport. The only way to effectively achieve what you want is to have some CSS knowledge, make dreamweaver create the base code for you, and then go in and manually fix the minor things.
