http://www.tutorialnation.com/
I just launched my website a few hours ago, There are a few tutorials in the que now, and should pop up every 30 minutes.
Basically it is P2L meets Digg, I've done a lot of cramming to get this site out today.
I was wondering what you guys think of the site? overall feel? ease of use?
Any critique welcome, as long as it's nice :D
Thanks everyone B)

You need new glasses.

I would be terrified to register on your site for one you have no privacy statement so how do we know your not harvesting email addresses, and just what the WWW needs is yet another tutorial site how original.

You also have problems in IE as it cuts the bottom of the tutorials off with the number and arrows.

It also looks as if your copying my-tuts in the color schemes  not that colors have a copyright attached but sheesh.

Totally forgot the URL in the posting, lol
Privacy statement is what I need I guess, I just wish you were a bit nicer about it.
Also, I didn't copy the my-tuts color scheme, I've had this layout for a while, I just never used it. Ask Jay himself, he knows all about it

Guess some people cannot handle the truth because writing I would be terrified to register on your site for one you have no privacy statement so how do we know your not harvesting email addresses is common sense if your opening something to the public these days.

without offending dude..

- The idea is great but it reminds me of my-tuts (and I don't want to touch that topic again, I'm not affiliated with my-tuts, I have my own stuff running atm)
- Looks pretty empty, I've just seen 3 tuts and those on the flash list (maybe you should have waited a while and fill up the db with some content
- About the design, there is not much to say about it, it's pretty plain, I know, I know, my-tuts is also plain... anyway maybe improve the layout keeping the size down
- One thing I really liked was the RSS feeds for each category and the big counter behind each tut. DiggStyle

keeping an eye on it

The whole thing seems my tuts like, look - with the colour, the idea, sorry just does seem like that. Definatly give it a new look and colours, just to make it more unique and well better, otherwise it would be a good site, I do like the "tutorial categories" box, and the RSS next to each, so just work on the look a bit more and you will have a real nice site.

The look was not my-tuts inspired, I've had the layouts behind the curtain for some time now, I think I mentioned that earlier? Jay even agrees with me on this.
I may change some aspects of the layout, but nothing totally differerent.

This is basically a public beta, although I do not like to put labels on things.
So it may be a little bit before we get some content up there.

Anyways guys, thanks for all the comments :D

So the same tan colors with a black/grey gradient nav bar was fluke? Bit of a stretch to think that it's a coincidence dude :D

Honestly it is lol, go ask Jay yourself :D
Who claimed a black/grey gradient theirs? I believe there are 1,000,000+ of those, and I used my tan color from a wordpress skin I saw a while ago.

hmm, now that it has more rows it looks a bit nicer. The only problem is this.

Basically it is P2L meets Digg,

You see, p2l has a over 500K visitors. Digg has a million. You think your site has more than that since you said its that combined?

Also. Your navigation area looks too plain. I dont think anyone would navigate through your site with something small and unappealing.

I never said it was P2L combined with Digg, I said it's P2L meets Digg, feature wise.
And yes I think the navigation area could be spiced up, maybe add containers?

Coding
-- PHP
-- ASP
-- JSP
-- etc
Design
-- PageMaker
-- Photoshop
Vector
-- Illustrator

get the idea?

Guys, you aren't even giving constructive criticsm anymore (well some of you). You are just going on at haloprO, atleast give something she can do to edit that or perfect it. Sheesh!

Well I think it is nice, your privacy statement reminds me of a browser that came out a bit ago, i forgot the name :D, i think though you should add something to seperate the right hand side column of tutorials from the left bit, and maybe make the gradient in the head a bit more pronounced.

I still think it's good as it is though im just giving tips for what would make it better to me :P

Stuff being nice then :D :P

The tan bit in the content looks straight out of Vanilla forums, that's what I thought when I saw My-Tuts aswell, but even though you may not have copied My Tuts in the slightest it ended up looking VERY similar.

On the main page add little icons of what kind of tutorial it is. It would help people navigate through the list easier.
I.e P2L use little icons the represent the programs/software used.
