well considering the difficulties you will have finding a FMH (Flash Media Hoster) for live streaming and the prices, yes I have other suggestions (though it's possible to live stream flash content with the appropriate knowledge and service providers of FMS (Flash Media Server) )

Live streaming is normally not very cheap and you need to have the corresponding servers, though there are for sure open source projects around, The easiest and cheapest way of doing it is using Windows Media.

You can get everything you need from http://www.microsoft...ws/windowsmedia

1. You need content (Capture card or firewire)
2. You need the windows media encoder 9.0 (currently)
3. you need access to a Windows Media Live service provider or you can setup your own when using windows server 2003 (license for live streaming is already included there)
4. Publish the live url into an embedded media player on a website and you're ready to go.

There is NO way of Livestreaming an "event" from an http server since the streaming functionality is missing

Alternatively you can use RealMedia or Quicktime both are also ok.

There are a few Flash Providers like, if they support livestreaming is rather a question that you need to ask them directly (I think it's possible) :(

Let me know if you need any help on this.
I work for a broadcasting company and I use all the mentioned formats every day :(
