Hey all I'm new here. I've been working on this site for a day or two and just finished the photoshop portion of it. Here's an image of what I have:

Posted Image

Keep in mind none of it is coded yet, I am looking for crits and comments from a pure visual design standpoint. And if anyone's wondering it will be for my small web design llc. Note that all text is placeholder including the contact us section.

My opinion on it: I personally think I'm going to scratch the whole layout. I think it looks nice I suppose but probably too much white. That's the main thing that's bothering me. So yep I'm probably going to scratch it for a completely new design! :)

P.S. Anyone like the picture? I took it myself! :P

P.S.S. PLEASE don't rip me!!! I didn't bother putting a watermark because anyone determined enough could get rid of it with the amount of white in this layout.

Yeah the nav is probably what I like best about that design. I will make sure to post updates as I progress with it and if I decide to scratch it.

Thanks for the positive feedback. :)

Yep I will try darkening the grays to make it lighter. Well I'm probably ditching this layout competely, maybe I'll use it as a sample layout for my portfolio but I'm redesinging my site anyway. Don't like this layout. :)

It's a pity because it looks nice and fresh. Maybe a bit light, yes, but you can fix that :)

Nope that wasn't me. The one posted earlier in the week was made directly from the tutorial from AK productions. Which makes me realize why I came up with this design! When I was making I kept having random ideas that some how fit perfectly with the site but that was only because I had seen the final result of the AK Pro before so when I started making a layout with that kind of nav the Ak Pro site subconsiously (lol) took control.

Now I'm definitely ditching this design because after looking at the AK Pro tut site again they look farrr to similar. Oh well. Maybe I'll post this up for download or something... :flower4u:

I took the picture... so I don't see how a lot of sites could use it. :D But if you mean grass in general yeah a lot of sites use that, which is why I am doing it, I think it looks a bit more professional.

I don't either. It looks inviting and professional and I really can't think of anything else to put there. The whole layout is going goodbye anyway so it doesn't really matter. :D

I want to use that grass picture though.... *tear* lol

I guess I'll do it. I'd like some experience anyway. I won't have it to you right away, but probably in a little while after I finish recoding a site I am working on. I'll let you know when it's ready. ^_^
