The curve adjustment is a problem because it basicly go against the little illusion the soft gradient gives to shade around the "sphere", the problem is that you make the shade from a circular gradient that at the bottom part of the sphere is getting bigger while a real sphere would make them smaller from the middle down.

Here is a example of this to show what i meen.
