Walked past this tree one day and had an idea of something to do with it. I think it turned out really great, personally.

Heh, it was some random idea that popped into my head as I was walking past the tree. I stood in one place and took a picture of the tree, then walked straight towards it and got on the other side (still facing the same direction) and took a picture of the stuff in the background that was obscured by the tree in the first picture. Then I just took it to Photoshop and cut out a small piece of the second picture and pasted it on top of the first, resized it, and did a few other things to make it as seamless as I could. It was really fun to make, and it's just fun to look at

You mean when I first took the pictures? Actually I just took two pictures and figured the rest would be easy in Photoshop, which it was. I just used a layer mask and a soft brush to make the edges blend together that didn't fit right. Maybe I'll make something that shows before and after with a rollover.

really nice and original, only thing i could suggest is making the tree trunk look more realistic from the angle, just looks a bit 2d'ish
other than that its awesome, good work

Well that's the point of the picture, it's not really supposed to look realistic in any way.
