I really love the layout so far, the header looks awesome. But the problem is the body of the layout doesnt match the header at all. If I were you, I would add some color and some design, even a little, to the body. Then it would be perfect!

content needs padding
also, it's too empty, would be nice if you use more colors in your layout and pixelart icons.

Your are correct-o about the content padding, a welcome page would be nice but I've always liked the whole just not having one feeling... I'm not sure where I would put the colors, I tried some with the content management system but it doesn't seem to like colors very much(Tried a blue, green even considered a red). In a few days I'll try to add a few nintendo sprites here and there to make it look better.

its nice but id change the header image, and with the roll overs idea change the colours, or make them slowly fade into another colour going from left to right.

look cool i like the navigation but not really the header and the content should be spaced out between eache item.
