Good Afternoon!
I just did a major over-haul of LearnPHPFree.com for v3. I re-designed it from the ground-up and I need some input on what people think. One of the things I am wondering about is the silver/dark combo... Does it match? Is it un-inviting or professional? In addition, there is now a forum - do you like it?

Also, is the navigation designed right? I did everything I thought of to make it easy to use but maybe you can find something I missed. :(

By the way, the site was started as a place where people could start learning PHP if they have never programmed before.

God Bless :D

I think it's good, but looks like that default skins that comes along the board
would be better if you use the same cheme of the news in the other boxes of the website

Thanks for the input man!
I tried to imagine the board the way you said but I like the light rounded bars for the title backgrounds better than the Dark Grad I used for the "News" on the front page. So I don't know whither I should change it...

Does anyone else agree with me? or do I just have really bad tastes?

as you don't wanna change, there could be minor improovements like the use of one more color in the scheme or mall icons

but don't worry, your website is just fine, good contrast, not just black and white, nice header, good code...

maybe someone else could give you more advices, I'm out of ideas, sorry

Thanks again for your help, if I ever figure-out how I can make you Dark style suggestion work I'll try it!
And I agree with you, maybe I should try to get some more small Icons or another color in the layout...

Now, if I can just get someone else to comment... (*Hint *Hint :D )

might want to work on the header a little bit, the text doesn't have to be that big.

Looks very clean and organized, but I feel overwhelmed when looking at it.
Good work otherwise

Thank you very much for you input! It is very helpful. ;)
Does anyone else agree with the points made by rmgr, adamD, or d2Squared?
or are they just personal tastes?

Have a Great day!

its ok i guess nothing special, its quite plain once the header isnt in view after scrolling though. And if your content is in the forum rather than the forum portal, its kind of a waste of time having a portal, when your end up in the forum any way.
