Ok. Packard bell cant make laptops for *cheese* :D

First i have to send it back as the screen becasue it does this:

Posted Image
(click for video)

(for some reason the video didnt fully upload but if i pressed the top as i was going to then it changed colour etc etc lol)

I then get a new one which i have to end back as the screen they replaced init has a area where the liquid just wobbled like anything lol and now i have to send this one back as....

1. 7 dead pixels (which turn a delighful shade of pink when on a white or dark background)
2. It overheats alot, and i mean it can get so bad it can hurt to hold you hand on it for a few seconds
3. There is another wobbly liquid patch
4. I suspect the cd drive connection is lose as it keeps dispearing from even the bios
5. The cd drive door does not open without some "temptation"

GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

On the plus side, you get a week or so break from me lol. :D Apart from when i occaisionly use my dads computer as my desktop is still broken andi have no money for a new motherboard!!!!!

oh btw: my swirly chair broke 2 days ago, what doesnt like me recently?! :D

edit: AND OMG how wrong does my wrist look in that snapshot!!! wth!

Packard Bell in one word.. SUCK!

I had a Packard Bell Desktop, the motherboard got so hot that it began to melt, dont ask how.. but it really smelled in my room as i came home from school..I left my PC on downloading a few game updates, and it really smelled, like burning flesh and plastic.. it was horrible, so i noticed the PC itself was smoking a whitish grey smoke.. i switched it off at the mains, took he side panel of the case off, and the motherboard was completely broke.. all the components were soggy and liquified.. when i rang packard bell they said they will send someone round to repair the PC At your home .. I think i was told he will come on the following day.. i think it was like.. 6 days later.. And when he came he didnt bring the right motherboard.. it was so annoying, it was like they didnt even want to help me..

Anyway, i hate Packard Bell.. http://emachines.com/ < -- They are good.. I have one of those, hasnt done me wrong for 2 years *touch wood*

Peace :)

Well, I wouldnt buy a premade computer because you cant really get what you are looking for. I custom built my rig, and its a very fast machine. 4 gigs ram, 3.0Ghz processor, 7800GTX nvidia graphics card, etc.

Ouch, man. I hope your laptop problems get fixed soon.

E-Machines has been a great for me. We have one of their low-line PCs and it works great for what we do with it. :D

Ok, a little update :)

LAst night (2 days before its due to go back, i boot the thing up and nearly cried when i said "missing opperating system" ...(ok i didnt cry but you know...)

I boot into linux and GParition shows the windows parition had a "filesystem failure"...

what does that mean i hear you cry...
It means i have lost 70% of my coursework from the past YEAR and 4 weeks of work on my new site which i was getting excited about as frankly loved it lol. It also means i have lost all my music (over 6gb of it) and everything else basicaly.

Fresh install this morning as nothing else could be done and as soon as my eyes are open enough packard bellends bell are going to get a lovely phone call telling them exactly how long they have to pick the bloody thing up and to either replace it (in which case i will sell it on ebay) or refund my money.

Now if you dont mind im going to go worry about the amount of work ive lost.... :D :( :(

Wow that really is pathetic I had a bad packard bell a few years ago but it seemed when ever I got it back it hadn't been fixed properly,

1st time, they didn't tie the wires up inside so it got in the way of the fan motion which overheeated the PC and stopped working

2nd time, it went to get fixed from the 1st time and came back with the graphics card slightly loose from transport

3rd time, went to get the graphics card put in properly from the 2nd time it was broken and they said it was fine and gave it me back

4th time, they obviously didn't hook it up to check if it was working from the 3rd time because when the graphics card came out it damaged the mother board.

5th time, the computer turned on and worked fine until I wanted to use the USB ports which wernt connected to the Motherboard properly which resulted in a powersurge and didn't let the pc turn on anymore.

------------

5th time. Sold it on ebay for £125 and got eMachines Lol

Ditched Packard Hell years ago, most crappy computer I've ever had.

Good luck finding something else!
