Virus writers have developed a Trojan downloader attack that poses as an offer for the latest edition of Google's Toolbar, the popular search tool. Spam messages that began circulating on Wednesday attempt to trick users into visiting a maliciously constructed website, disguised to resemble the genuine Google Toolbar site, reports UK-based net security firm SurfControl.

Users who accept a offer to download "Google Toolbar" software from the bogus site will find themselves installing a Trojan which turns their machines into zombie clients, controlled by hackers.

Hmmmmm, I guess it all comes down to who you trust, If everyone just downloaded it staright from google it would be fine.

It's really bad because it seems like this trojan is constrolled by a Remote Administraiton Tool, which if it is that means It's not simply harming there PC but the hackers are going to be picking up a lot of useful information.

Yeah.. Plus this trojan is aimed at the dumbasses of the net if im honest.. because if you donwload an EXE always make sure you're downloading direct from the creator or a licensed website.. such as Download.com etc.
