I have a client who has a very active private forum. I am thinking of helping him convert his private yahoo based forum to a public invision board forum. I have a few questions:

1) Does Google search forums?

2) If Google does, will this help his website?

3) Which forum should I use? ....cost is not an issue

4) Should I make a seprate domain for the forums, or put it on his main site in /forums?

Thanks!

1) Does Google search forums?

yea, you will see the google bots and everything in the user bar if you look.

2) If Google does, will this help his website?

yup

3) Which forum should I use? ....cost is not an issue

Depends on the site imo, Invision Power Board (which P2L uses) is usually the best again my opinion.

4) Should I make a seprate domain for the forums, or put it on his main site in /forums?

If you want it to help the site in terms of listing then I would say no just have /forums/ or community or whatever.

I could be wrong so don't think everything I said is right lol.

:) I think what you said was right, and yes in my opinion I would back the option of using Invision Power Board, It's by far the best in my opinion.
