A giant panda in China has given birth to the heaviest cub born in captivity after the longest period in labor and elsewhere twin pandas each gave birth to twins, Xinhua news agency reported.

Six-year-old Zhang Ka delivered the baby on Monday at the Wolong Giant Panda Research Center in the mountainous southwest, Xinhua said.

The cub weighed just 218 grams (half a pound), but was still the heaviest panda ever born in captivity, where most cubs are born at between 83 and 190 grams, Xinhua said.

Does seem a bit on the small size still :o

Dale, if you read it says.. IN CAPTIVITY! READ READ READ!! lol..

Obviously in captivity theyre not normal animals in a way.. its like.. its like theyre test tube babies from start.. and then they have their own wildlife indoors (and outdoors ofc)

That make sense?

I hope it did cos it didnt to me.. lol :(

lol people. They arnt going to pop out full sized pandas haha there still babys.

Lol.. Can someone answer this for me please.. its off topic but.. why do Kangeroos mums have mucus in their pouches? .. Do the baby kangaroos eat it or something? lol.. Sorry.. <_<
