It's been long awaiting, and the main reason I haven't purchased a G5 yet. Because they came out too long ago, and with the new intel hoopla and new powerbook, ibook, and imac series, i knew the new G5s were around the corner. And now look, $2400 for a dual 2.6? AMAZING!....and with a college discount....$2200, where do I sign up. My poor credit cards......
Who is drooling at the mouth while looking at Mac Pros?

I've got a 2.6, its a superb laptop. Got an extra gig installed to bump it to 2.
Got bootcamp running with Tiger and XP, highly recommended

*raises hand halfway*
friend of mine, that is more into Mac than PC's, went to some debut of the MacBook Pro at the Apple Store and wasn't all that intrigued by it.
They had it and a comperable G5 side by side, doing the same stuff in Final Cut Pro, and the MacBook Pro finished faster, but you had to go back and make adjustments so that it was of equal quality to the G5's output on the first try.
but, I still want a Mac.
