Hey i was wanting to freelance sometime in the future, and i was woundering how is it? Is it always slow or do you find customers? Does it pay well? Enough to just do websites, or just some extra cash

There are so many cheap community colleges pushing web design that I don't believe there is a whole lot of design work out there, but I'm sure there will always be a need for coders, PHP, JavaScript, and the like.

well, if you're 'just doing websites' then you'll never get big jobs, as it were. if you have the skills, the attitude, and the experience then you can freelance fulltime. the biggest hurdle after skill is getting the business experience and exposure. A good suit and good ideas might get you into places otherwise barred to you.



there's a fair amount of design work out there that is paid, but it takes a lot to get there. a good portfolio and dealing with successful companies (or better yet, making success for companies) will help.

Freelancing is pretty good... I used to freelance at places like elance.com and such... the big problem is that you get majorly low-balled by mid-east companies that bid like $5 an hour rates for design and programming. Hard to compete...
