im making a view latest topics since last visit script for my forums like IPB has it, but how do i store what topics they read? i know IPB uses cookies for this as i found the cookie in my browser, but its all jibberish, so what would i store in a cookie? the topic id? but then everytime i do setcookie it would overwrite the other cookie wouldnt it?

You do it the same way you update any variable (and if you're trying to make a forum and don't know this, i suggest you go try other things first, forums are by no means simple).
