is there a way, were i can create custom patterns in illustraor and apply my custom patters to an object or area?!!
basiacally like photoshop where i can create a pattern and have it fill a selected object or area?!!!
photoshop > define pattern > pattern overlay > ....

1. Draw your pattern (square or rectangular "canvas").
2. Once finished, drag it onto "Swatches" palette.
3. Draw new shap, apply your newly created pattern to it.
That's it

Obvious tipo:
Draw rectangle first (no fill, no border)
draw pattern over thye rectangle
All inside rectangle is okay, to correct part outside rectangle; copy rectangle to all 4 sides and correct all necessary so you see that it matches
delete the four latter rectangles
select your pattern and the rectagle and then you can use your pattern in Illustrator
OR
Copy the drawing, go to photoshop
Choose new document (it will automaticly select the right dimensions since you got the drawing on your clipboard)
then paste, select all, define pattern.
