1 other thing, wot is the point in having the nav twice?, i'm assuming on every page both nav's will be visible? maybe scrap the nav on the right and use an image from ur school, maybe even a diff one for each page to give it a bit more "oomph" lol

your making a graphic-related site type layout, not a school layout. thats the first noticable problem.

when you make dummy text in photoshop, remove anti-aliasing so it looks more like it would in html ( not important really... really? )

and yea, remove one of the menus.

so this layout doesn't have enough contrast... or structure, i think your old one is better than this one. but work on color usage.

I suggest trying to get this sort of design - http://www.greendown.swindon.sch.uk/
Its the website for my school
Could try just getting the design from the source code, there to stupid to notice.

That site seems absolutely boring.

For all those commenting on the extra navigation bar, the top bar shows the main links whilst the left navigation shows the sub navigation links.

Your latest design is a big improvement with what you started with.. But I still agree with everyone else. Except for one thing: Some of you were saying its a graphical site, not a school site. Well, I dont agree with that. Most school sites are tacky, and they certainly dont give me the feeling that it was about a school. Greendown's site gave me the feeling that it was one of those sites whenyou type in the wrong link. Do an interesting site, so people will actually visit. Also, please for the love of god dont use the basic top banner and links underneath, thats the second most common used layout. Have a look at the business templates here:
http://www.templatem...egory/business/
They use very interesting shapes, and a business type template for a school suits. They do use the basic tables, but the colours and graphics they use really dont make it look like that at all.

Hope I've helped :)

Thanks for that I tryed doing that for the newest update on the design. The colours are a bit bright still I just can't find any that suit it yet.

Note: Banner needs changing, aswell as a few minor sections.
