Well this is my site, i made it completely in Flash. I hope you like it, and yes i know theres no colour, i'm really bad with colour but i wanted to give it a dark look anyways. I'm more of a coder then a designer, if you check out my games on there, but yeah anyways...

I'm not a fan of flash, but I have used it in only small areas of web design. Personally I don't like the design, I think it's too dark and not very structured. It's old style and not modern enough. But just my opinion. :P

Yeah, I'd basically have to say the same as Trix here. Mind you, there are some fabulous flash sites out there... they are done really well and I don't mind them.

its a cool idea but teh graphics could use some work make them more crisp, also it looks weird in biggere browsers cause the bg doesnt match the flash box bg.

the whole site looks flat to me, it could also have been done without the use of flash..
the red mouse overs also don't fit the whole thing..
btw.. your flash tutorials are linked to the photoshop tuts :)

I think it's poor. It’s really un-user-friendly and badly designed.

Flash prominent websites are bad bad bad!
Pop-up’s are bad bad bad!

You’ve used both!

Read this, it’s taken from an article I once wrote:

Quote

Flash and Image Prominent Websites
Allot of people make websites entirely out of flash or images. This is not a good idea at all, because if you do this your search engine ranking will significantly drop. This happens because search engines look for text in the pages.

Another argument against flash and image prominent sites is the fact that some browsers might not be able to support flash, which means they will not see anything. When it comes down to images, this is not a big a problem. However, some users have their browsers to display the alt tag instead of the image, which again means they will not see anything.

The final problem with these two methods is loading time. It takes way longer to load flash and images than it does text.

You've made the website in flash, yet you've done things that could have been done with text and CSS. Also, you've made it so small that it just sits on the top left of my screen and I am left with loads of white space!

Sorry if that seems harsh, but that’s how I see it.

I know what your saying programmer, and i agree but....

- I don't care too much about my search engine rankings and there is other ways to get traffic.

- On my screen the site fills up the whole screen, so it seems half half for people getting weird problems with that.

- Pop ups? do you mean the ones i have when you press the button to play a game? pop ups like that are used on lotsof websites, like newgrounds

Flash seems a lot easier to make websites in besides they way you embed them into html, i'm hoping macromedia will do something about that. I just can't seem to get any good at CSS, and html, ect. I find why write code to move things when you want to simply move it around yourself on the screen instead of pain the in the ass locked frames.

That's fair enough, but search engines will get you a lot of traffic.

Have you set the flash to fit 100% or have you set it to a specific size.

Sorry, don't like it, there is no reason for the use of flash, and just not liking the design, sorry.

Well i like them to pop-up is the main reason, its good if you can just click a game and the game pop ups in a new window configured to the right size.

Well he has no clue either, and telling people this is even more stupid. seriously, do some research and ask the REAL flash users.

flash is good when you make something beutiful with it. what you made was something that didn't need flash, it's all bold, ugly in most people opinion and with almost no color, just the red rollover... and what a simple rollover for a flash website.

tou need to work harder in your flash website, have some creative ideas and then make it up.

I don't hate flash, I quite like it, but it's really no good for being user friendly. Perhaps in 5 years time when flash and faster connections become more standard amongst computers, but now I don't think so. Not whole websites. Perhaps just the odd bit, but the whole thing is a little drastic. 'Cause if someone can't see it, you're screwed.

What I don't get it, is i've seen the same simple rollover effects in HTML and people would say its nice and clean ect.

Because its made in Flash does that mean I HAVE to make the standads of the site 10 times higher then a HTML version of it??

Plus each page doesn't have to load like in html.

I would say yes. What's the point in using flash if it's nothing special? If it's someone you can get in HTML and CSS, you're better off doing it that way.
